The knowledge of foreign languages, particularly English as the current language of international communication, plays a significant role in modern education. English proficiency is essential for excellence in any profession, as media literacy and access to current knowledge often rely on resources primarily available in English. Furthermore, interculturality is a crucial element in the growth of individuals aspiring to become global citizens. Finally, studying verbal and non-verbal language and their interaction with thought and society leads to better understanding of the world we live in and our social reality.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Department of English and German Studies aims to empower students of all programs at the Faculty of Education in their use of foreign languages across all four language skills, as well as in intercultural communication competence, media literacy, and understanding of the principles of language use and acquisition. These skills contribute to independent, lifelong learning.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n
The department’s members are dedicated to the development of their students’ knowledge and skills, as well as the active participation in community-focused initiatives, such as collaboration with local associations and entrepreneurs, stakeholders within the educational system of the Republic of Croatia, as well as international partners.
