It comprises distinguished researchers and highly qualified professionals with extensive experience in their respective fields. The department\u2019s scientific, teaching, and clinical activities focus on educational rehabilitation and speech and language pathology. Its interdisciplinary approach also incorporates fields such as otorhinolaryngology, head and neck surgery, early intervention, education, musicology, and medical law, providing a unique contribution to existing study programmes.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The research and professional activities of the department&#8217;s members focus on qualitative and cross-cultural studies, as well as investigations into inclusive education, early childhood intervention, community-based learning, autism spectrum disorders, sensory integration and sensory processing challenges, professional development for teachers and rehabilitation specialists, specific learning difficulties, voice, speech, and swallowing disorders, neurological language and speech impairments, forensic voice and speech analysis, music-based rehabilitation interventions, vocational rehabilitation, disability rights, social rehabilitation and inclusion, special andragogy, and gerontology.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Teaching activities within the department are delivered through undergraduate and graduate programmes in Educational Rehabilitation, as well as undergraduate programmes in Speech and Language Pathology, offered at the Faculty of Education. These programmes are designed to meet the contemporary needs of professionals and recipients of rehabilitation services. From 2006, ongoing, she works at Faculty of Education and teaches courses at educational rehabilitation program. Earned PhD in 2014, at the field of special pedagogy. In 1988, she graduated from the Faculty of Special Education (now the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences) in Zagreb and earned the title of special education teacher. In 2015, she completed her Postgraduate Doctoral Study in Prevention Science and Disability Study at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences in Zagreb and obtained the academic degree of Doctor of Science in the scientific field of social sciences, educational and rehabilitation sciences.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">She worked for many years in regular elementary schools in the tasks and duties of a professional associate for students with disabilities and since 2004 she has been the director of an inclusive elementary school in Osijek. As an external associate, she worked at the Faculty of Education in Osijek, Slavonski Brod and Vukovar, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek. She was a member of numerous commissions and working groups that aimed to equalize opportunities for children with disabilities and people with disabilities. Since 1989, she has been employed at the Centre for Autism Zagreb as an educational rehabilitator and teacher. From 2002 to 2018, she served as Head of the Sensory Integration Rehabilitation Programme, and from 2018 to 2024 as Head of the Department for Preschool and Primary School Programmes for children and pupils with ASD.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">At the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Zagreb, she completed postgraduate studies, earning her Master of Science degree in 2001 and defending her doctoral dissertation in 2012 in the field of mental health of children and youth with disabilities.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">She has been a long-term external associate of the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Zagreb at the Center for Rehabilitation, where she participates in sensory integration assessments and parental counselling, as well as at the Centre for Lifelong Learning, where she acts as co-lecturer in professional education programmes in the field of sensory integration.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">From 2020 to 2022, she taught in the Educational Rehabilitation study programme at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Education, University of Mostar. Since 2018, she has been the course coordinator for the elective course \u201cApproach to Persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder\u201d within the Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Medical Laboratory Diagnostics programmes at the University of Applied Health Sciences Zagreb.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">She regularly participates in professional and scientific conferences in Croatia and abroad and is the author and co-author of numerous professional and scientific papers published in indexed and non-indexed journals. She is also a member of professional associations in Croatia.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">From 2021 to 2024, she actively participated in the development of draft curricula and specialised subject curricula for students with disabilities within the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia. From 2009 to 2015, she served as Head of the Clinical Department for Head and Neck Surgery, Plastic Reconstructive, and General ENT Surgery.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">She defended her doctoral dissertation in 2015 in the field of Clinical Medical Sciences within the area of Biomedicine and Health. From 2018 to 2023, she operated her private clinic, Polyclinic Rosso. In 2022, she was appointed to the academic title of Assistant Professor in the interdisciplinary field of Clinical Medical Sciences and Speech-Language Pathology.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Dr. Rosso has completed advanced training at several healthcare institutions in Europe and the United States and has attended numerous international courses for continuing medical education. She has actively participated in numerous international and national congresses and professional gatherings. Dr. Rosso is the author of a significant number of professional and scientific papers published in indexed and non-indexed journals, as well as chapters in peer-reviewed books. After completing high school in Osijek, she graduated in speech and language pathology at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation, University of Zagreb, in 2009. She obtained her PhD in biomedical sciences in 2018 at the Faculty of Medicine of the J. J. Strossmayer University in Osijek, defending her doctoral thesis. She earned the title of Medical Law Specialist in 2022 at the Faculty of Law, University of Split. She interned at the Department of Neurology, University Hospital Center Osijek, from 2009 to 2010. She received her professional training in Croatia and the Netherlands and completed several postgraduate courses in continuing medical education. From 2010 to 2023, she was employed at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery of the University Hospital Center Osijek. From 2016 to 2022, she was an external expert associate at the Department of Neurology of the National Memorial Hospital \u201cJuraj Njavro\u201d Vukovar. Since 2023, she has been working as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Education, J. J. Strossmayer University in Osijek. She is an external associate at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health, J. J. Strossmayer University in Osijek, Faculty of Kinesiology, University of Zagreb, and Faculty of Philosophy, University of Mostar. She has published several scientific papers and actively participated in numerous domestic and international congresses. She then returned to Berlin to study speech therapy.<\/p><p>She graduated on 29 June 2006 with the academic title of Professor of Speech Therapy, which was later recognised (nostrified) in the Republic of Croatia, where she returned in 2010. From 2006 to 2019, she founded and managed her own speech therapy practices under the name <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><i>ProLogoS<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"> in Berlin and Brandenburg. She also established the educational company <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><i>ProLogoS Bildung<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">, dedicated to the continuing education and specialisation of speech therapists, patholinguists, phoneticians, and Schlaffhorst-Andersen therapists.<\/p><p>Since 2004, she has served as a certified court interpreter and translator for the German, Serbian, Bosnian, and Croatian languages in Germany and Croatia. From 2006 to 2008, she completed a two-year training programme in therapeutic dolphin swimming for children with developmental difficulties in Austria and Ukraine.<\/p><p>She has completed various advanced trainings and specialisations with renowned experts in Germany, Austria, and Croatia. She also actively participated in the travelling exhibition across Germany titled <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><i>Sprich mit mir<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"> (Speak with Me), which focused on language and speech development in children from birth to the age of seven. Between 2007 and 2009, she served as the regional president of the Berlin\/Brandenburg chapter of the German Speech Therapy Association (dbl e.V.).<\/p><p>After returning to Croatia, she took up a position at the <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><i>German-French Europacampus<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"> in Zagreb, where she served as director of the German kindergarten and as a speech therapist at the German school.<\/p><p>She then returned to her home region, working from 2012 to 2016 as a speech therapist with the <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><i>Croatian Red Cross<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"> in Novska. At the same time, she maintained a private speech therapy practice in Dobrovac.<\/p><p>In the academic year 2020\/2021, she enrolled in the Bachelor\u2019s programme in Early and Preschool Education at the <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><i>Faculty of Teacher Education, University of Zagreb (Petrinja campus<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">), which she completed in 2023, earning the degree of Bachelor of Early and Preschool Education. In the same academic year, she continued to the Master\u2019s programme in the same field and completed it successfully in 2025, earning the degree of Master of Early and Preschool Education. She began working as a trainee at <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><i>Jasenovac Kindergarten <\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">in 2024 and passed her professional qualification examination in May 2025. She has been a member of numerous volunteer organisations and associations aimed at equalising opportunities for children with disabilities, people with disabilities, and parents of children with developmental disabilities.
