Centre for Teaching Methodology and Student Practice

The Centre for Methodologies and Professional Practice was established in the 2022/2023 academic year. The Faculty of Education in Osijek sets high professional and academic standards for its teachers and students in the educational field. Therefore, the Centre for Methodologies and Professional Practice, as an integral organisational unit of the Faculty, has directed its activities towards ensuring and continuously enhancing contemporary theoretical and practical developments. It emphasizes direct involvement in the practical work of educators, primary school teachers, and educational rehabilitators.

The Centre is currently focused on methodologies and student teaching practice within three main study programmes: teacher education, early childhood and preschool education, and educational rehabilitation. The Centre promotes the systematic collaboration and development of partnerships among teachers, students, and practitioners in kindergartens, schools, and other institutions, as well as cooperation with the wider community.

The Centre for Methodologies and Professional Practice’s mission is to create a high-quality platform for professional and innovative support in direct educational activities. The Centre aims to establish a recognisable research hub focused on exploring contemporary theory and practice while also fostering collaboration with other institutions, organisations, and associations at the local, national, and international levels. In doing so, the Centre strengthens the educational system as a whole. The Centre’s objective is to become a meeting point, a place of professional support, and a centre for research.

The vision of the Centre, through various forms of collaboration with participants directly or indirectly involved in the Centre’s activities, is to be recognised as an institute of excellence in research on specific methodologies integrated into a holistic approach to child/student learning. It also aims to be recognised in the field of professional-pedagogical practice as a significant and socially useful initiative involving students, university teachers, and practitioners within the educational system and the broader social environment.
